Inventory-taking drone: Hardis Group launches real-life prototype testing phase
Eyesee, the result of a technological partnership with Squadrone System, is tested in FM Logistic warehouses to:
- see how well the solution designed in the lab translates to real life in the warehouse so it can be fine-tuned to meet logistics providers' requirements as closely as possible;
- measure the benefits in productivity, safety and quality in a real-life situation.
According to estimations, the under-occupation rate of the warehouses in France ranges from 20 to 40 %. Empty warehousing space leads to higher impact of fixed costs and lower profitability for the companies.
Meanwhile, many companies are looking for warehouse space to store their products for a limited length of time, especially during peak periods.
This background sets the standards for a young innovative company to develop Stockbooking, the first European platform for temporary storage that identifies available warehouse space and companies warehousing needs.
FM Logistic is assisting the start-up, it sponsors the concept that brings a collaborative economic model to the warehousing industry.
The international group FM Logistic has just become majority shareholder of Spear Logistics, one of the leading Indian logistics companies. The shares were acquired from a private investor who had owned them since 2009. The two companies are uniting their strengths and complementarity in the aim of providing optimum services to their respective customers in the Indian market.
